Can you use silicon to fill motor mounts?? I need help.
Here's my situation. I have a CRX with a 93 LS swap. The mount points on the motor were re-welded by the previous owner, so stock mounts were used. The rubber inside 2 of the mounts are trashed, so I ordered all 3 mounts brand new. I also ordered a set of 3 Energy Suspension urethane inserts since I drag race the car. Problem is, only 1 set of the 3 inserts fits the mounts.
Here is the first mount (I think the drivers side mount). The inserts fit perfectly on this mount.
Here is the next mount (not sure which one). As you can see, it's pretty well filled in from the factory, so I'm not too worried about it.
This is the mount in question. You can see that it's really open, and gives very easily.
These are the remaining urethane inserts, which don't fit in any of the mounts.
My question is about the last mount. It seems I read somewhere that you can use clear silicon to fill in the holes around the mount to make it stiffer (like with the inserts). Is this true? What do you guys recommend?
I don't mean to sound like such a dumbass, but it seems like everything I buy for this car does not fit at all
Please help.

The box says part # 16.1109G, which I looked up on the ES website. It says they are for my 93 LS motor. Unless the inserts were sent in the wrong box

Well, you should know what you buy. Those are for the rear mount and both front lower torque mounts.
You got what you paid for; just not what you wanted.
