A resonator in the exhaust system is pretty much exactly the same as a glasspack (cherry bomb is the cheapest solution)muffler. It would be positioned before your regular muffler, just after the cat. Most exhaust kits already have a resonator installed... For a custom exhaust, you could just head to the nearest/best local muffler shop and ask them what they have for resonators. They're very simple and shouldn't be too expensive.

resonator's will quiet your system down, they restrict air flow a little allowing a quieter tone overall. You can get them on our site in many sizes:

LIke they said, they're supposed to quiet down your exhaust. I just ordered a magnaflow ss oval muffler and 22" resonator for $129 shipped. I can't wait to put them on. My exhaust is rediculously loud, 2.25" with a crappy muffler.

Get a stainless steel resonator, like a magnaflow. I don't really need one, because my car sounds deep until I hit VTEC - then it gets all buzzy - but at least get a quality one.

The stainless steel ones only come in 14" which is the one they use on their cat-backs. The longer ones, 18" and 22", only come aluminum, according to Performance Curve.

22" will lower your tone the most, its the most youll be able to lower with just a resonator:

you could fit it in the long b pipe on your hatch

How much would a 22" resonator hurt performance?

i ll tell you it will save your ears/wallet if your in a state with bitchy cops more then youll lose on performance; Its restrictive but not that bad: if you cant stand it without it, then by all means get one:
