Default Need tips on removing/inserting endlink bushings

Gotta finish my swaybar install tomorrow, just wondering what's the best way to take out the bushings (I need to retrieve the collar) and putting new ones in the itr bar. Thanks for any help!

The only advice I can give is that one you jack up the car, the wheels will go into droop and put tension on the sway bar making it harder to loosen the end-links. What you need to do is to put a jack underneath the lower ball joint (or there about) and raise the lower control arm until it's horizontal. Ideally you want to do this on both sides. This will remove the stress on the sway bar and make end-link removal much easier.

If you are referring to the bushings on the end of the swaybar where it bolts to the endlinks, then I would recommend cutting the top lip that goes over the sway bar off and then try getting a little wd-40 or other lubricant between the bushing and the swaybar and then using some sort of round punch and hammer to smack them out of there. Then cut up the bushing to get the collar out. To put the collars in the new bushings and the new bushings in the new bar, lube everything up with chapstick, and wrestle them in there. Hope this helps.

NOTE:this is assuming you are using new bushings and only needed the old ones for the metal collar in them.

using a big C-clamp, I use a socket the size of the collar to push it out, against a socket big enough to let the collar pass thru.
you kinda need patience or two sets of hands.. but it works every time.
a vice will work too, but I just had a C-clamp handy and was outside.

Thanks for the replies guys, it wasn't as tough as I thought. I just used a lot of silicon lube
