New owner of a 90 Civic Si HB, My first 5-spd...
My first post here as a Honda owner.
I just bought a 1990 Civic Si hatchback and it's my first stick. Nice car and I'm starting to fall in love with the looks. The car is 100% stock, engine has 123,000 miles, and the owner still had the original brochure which is pretty neat.
I took it for a few spins around the neighborhood, as it had no plates yet, and had some fun. The clutch travel(?) is quite long, as the clutch grabs very low. I did stall it a few times, but I didn't expect it to be easy. The 1.6 liter did suprise me though: everytime I gave a little gas and the clutch grabbed, the car took off much quicker than I expected. I gave it a little too much gas once and had some nice wheel spin, whoops
. Anyone wanna share some tips to get a newbie started off a little more smoothly?
Anyways, I did some searching before joining this forum, and I have to say the people on this board seem to be the most mature and educated Honda drivers on the internet.
