Default do you guys replace those crush washers when you change oil/tranny fluid?

i started too about a year ago.

fyi honda part #

94109-14000 (oil and tranny drain) 14mm
94109-20000 (tranny filler bolt) 20mm

on other peoples car: sometimes
on my car: yes.
but i never got any complaints of leaks from other people when i dont change the washer and they always come back when their due for another change.

my buddy was the one who told me about them and thats when i started to replace every oil change. i just get them from him for free.

nope, never leaks either, no shops/instant oil change places do it.

I always get filters from the dealer and they always tape a new washer to the filter... so yes, always.

if they didn't, I'd probably be hit or miss on them though

I reuse them maybe 5 times. If I see anything wrong, like scratched or something, I'll throw it out... The Saab uses a soft copper washer, same story.

Every time I change my oil...don't have to worry about overtightening the drain bolt to prevent a leak.

Grrr, my dealer charges me $1.88 for each crush washer! Anyone know of a comparable part from someone other than Honda that is MUCH cheaper? I got sick when I paid $24 for 12 of those washers last week

I didn't the first couple times I changed my oil and never had a leak, but now I'm in the habit of replacing the washer with every change. I don't see why anyone wouldn't replace them when you can get them for 19 cents a pop.

Actually I used to work at an oil change shop and they changed it everytime for every car.

NAPA sells them, I got 20 for 3 dollars I think
