Default Wheel bearing or axle, which is the problem?

My car is making a rubbing noise on the right side of the car when I go straight or turn left but ceases to make the noise when I turn right. I have had the wheel bearing replaced on the driver side wheel and am know wondering if the passenger side has to be replaced or is it the axle? I have also checked the rim for movement with the car off the ground and had no signs of play in it. The tires have also been balanced 2 times already. Please help me out to diagnose this problem. Thanks

Is it a constant rubbing sound when you're going straight? Have you checked to see if the tires are rubbing anywhere?

well how low is your car if its too low it might be your axle but if it was a wheel bearing it would get louder when you go faster and it would be a squicking noise

Sounds an awful lot like the axle. My GSR was doing that for a few days after I replaced the driver side axle. I would only do it during acceleration going straight or turning right. But not turning left. Turned out that the axle hadn't been fully engaged with the halfshaft. After putting it in properly the problem went away.

Now Im thinking it could be the axle because it started sounding worse and vibrating progressively after I had my axles replaced.

agreed

I say axle... check if the boot has a small rip in it... the grease could have leaked out and your axle could be wearing pretty bad

It turned out to be the wheel bearing.
