Anyone think a match race of this sort will ever happen?

 

I would have to say YES!!

I was at E-town for the Powerade Nat.s in May, and saw Ara from street glow chilling by Waren Johnson's trailor. I ask him what he was doing, and he told me he was trying to set up an exhibition race with WJ. So I know the offer has been made. Ara was really cool, talked with me for like 15 minutes, told me E-town was his Fav. track, and even agreed that it was "scary" just how many people buy Street glow products

for Ara and the street glow team, nice guys, real down to earth, and ALL about racing!!

 

Yeah I would say there is a good possibility. They are going to be running very similar times next year definately. I think George wants to go after the man in pro stock Greg Anderson. Pro stock record is 6.67 @ 207 I believe.

 

Greg Anderson and his Vegas General Pro Stock are gonna be hard to beat if the Street Glow cars race him. That guy has a realy good race car!

Yeah Greg is real fast. Maybe there will be some pro rwd cars near that time. It'll be interesting to see what times are run this weekend at texas. I am more interested to see if Kubo will get a 7 in the extreme rush. But I could definately see an exhibition of some sort next year.

 

I think Greg ran 6.670 at 207.18. George has posted a few 6.70 runs, while Steph ran 207.80 at Woodburn.

If Lisa or anybody runs a seven at Dallas is it legit since it's an exhibition event?

Isn't there alot of nascar shops around Charlotte too. I thought that is where a lot of the teams are located.
And I don't think that the times would count officially if someone runs a 7, but definately bragging rights.

 

keep in mind pro stock guys are turning these times off the motor only...

it would still be a cool race

 

i saw the big boys at etown this year. and after seeing that i thought ara was crazy. but as our season went on seeing the lower and lower ets from the street glow team i really think they can do it. i think next season you will see consistent 6.70s round after round just like the pro stock guys. JAVIER CAN YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN??! the ultimate import vs domestic match race, put it on pay per view like that one they did years ago. it would be HUGE!

I just got back from the NHRA Spring Nationals here in Dallas. I spoke to Ara and I asked him about racing Kurt and Warren Johnson. He said its going to happen. They took pics of Warren and Kurt Johnson along with both street glow cars at the starting line I guess to promote the race.

He also said the race was supposed to happen in E-town last weekend but due to the rain it didnt happen.

I also ran into Javier Ortega and Jim Skelly and as always, such a great pleasure to talk to you. Sorry Javier for not meeting up with you when you called it was my 1st time watching funny car and Top fuel!

I cannot find any info on it

 

NHRA Powerade series is in Dallas this weekend. NHRA Sport Compact is having the Extreme Rush exhibition runs with the top 8 Pro FWD and Pro RWD cars between rounds of the big boys.
