DIY Harness for HIDs
Im sure if any of you have purchased Trevors HID kit you already know or will soon know how crappy the wire harness is.
What they do is take lug connectors wrapped in heatshrinkwrap to cover the connection but does not make it air tight; hence, we have metal against metal in a small confined space with a passage way for air to get in; ergo, leaves the likelyhood of moisture,etc.. to get in. What will this do? CAUSE CORROSION and ultimatly inhibit a healthy electrical connection to your HID ballast.
So anybody wondering why one headlight wen out or why you have to wiggle something to get it back on... this is why.
Solution:
You must cut off the heat shrink wrap, buy new lugs... and fit them on to the connector. Here is the finished product and must be SEALED PROPERLY or to the best of your ability. That would either be the use of silicon/epoxy/or hotglue.
Here is what it should look like before you can seal it off. If you all have any questions let me know... its not that hard of a fix. But this could have been avoided via proper sealing of metal/metal connections.
