Default Accord Euro Type R Intake Manifold into a 99 Prelude VTEC

I want to buy this intake manifold for my 99 Prelude VTEC but I have a couple of questions before I do just to make sure everything will work correctly. The Type R manifold doesn't have the secondary butterflies that the stock one has, how will the ecu handle this? Do I have to make any modifications to the cylinder head or to the manifold, or will this be just a bolt on affair? Thanks for the help.

It's definately not a simple bolt on process. I few people have done this and it takes a bit of preperation to do the job right.

The IM flange needs to be machined to mate up to the head. The stock 5Gen fuel rail will not fit so you need the Euro R fuel rail. The stock injectors are too long to work with the Euro R fuel rail and fuel rail studs. To get the injectors to fit, custom studs are needed or spacers. The throttle cable bracket is not in the right position to work with the 5Gen throttle cable. AND I think the EGR and IAC units are also not compatible.

It can be done though -- read through some posts at PreludeOnline.com or here.

As for your IAB question the ecu just sends an on signal to the lug till 4900 (5th gen) and then turns off. It doesn't check to see if it's plugged in or anything so not having them makes no difference to the ecu, the MAP sensor adjusts based on the pressure anyway.

If you're in PR why don't you talk to Mark Perez? He has one on his accord. his screen name here is se93
