anyone sell their itr at carmax?
just wondering if anyone has sold their itr to carmax? if so, what year and mileage was the car and about what did they give you for it? just trying to weigh my options.
I used to work for CarMax, and I can tell you this. Only expect to get wholesale value for your car. You can go to http://www.carmax.com and click on we buy cars, then enter in your information and KBB gives you an answer. CarMax is generally on target with KBB

I didn't try my ITR at Carmax but did take a Mint 00 Si there as well as a 03 Jetta and 01 Civic 4 door. Walked away on all was ridiculously low offers.
Last one was Jetta only 3k miles offered me like 16k the car was new. I sold it for 20k myself.
All I can say is Carmax
Will never bother with them again that is for sure.

See, the thing with Carmax is, IT IS A BUSINESS!! Why people expect to get top dollar I don't understand. Most of their cars are priced BELOW blue book, so why would you expect to get more? I work at Carmax, and I would of course not recommend anybody who wanted to get blue book to come in and waste their time getting an appraisal.
HOWEVER, if you're looking to sell your car fast and with no hassles, then go to Carmax, bring your title and registration, and walk out 1 hour later with a check made out to you for your car.
The bottom line is, we don't go by any other appraisal systems other than our own. Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds.com can say your car is worth whatever they want, but they aren't actually cutting the check. So, it doesn't matter what they say. Again, my recommendation is this: If you're in a rish to sell your R, bring it to Carmax. However, if you've got the time to squeeze a couple thousand extra dollars out of it, put it up for sale on H-T with some good pictures and good descriptions and you can probably sell it that way.
Good luck whatever you do.
