Default Insurance outcomes of those with stolen R's?

I was wondering two things, since my R got stolen last Thursday.

1. How much did you recieve for the car from your insurance?

2. What happened to the rates of your insurance afterwards?

Thank you.

have they located yours yet? I would call the NYC Department of Sanitation and ask them if they have recovered it, if you haven't heard anything yet.. Have your VIN handy..

I got a little over 17k for mine when all was said and done.. and my rates went up slightly.. Unfortunately, this is my second total loss within like 18 months, so I'll be curious to see if they renew me.. But yeah, the rates didn't change much overall..

I had mine stolen almost 3 yrs ago, and it was only 6 weeks old. I received a check for 24.5k about a month later. Hard to say would I would get if my current one were stolen now that it is a 3 yr old car. I have to say, to my insurance co.

Ouch, my rates remained the same since it was a no-fault theft.

ITRbroham

How did you get $18+ for a 98. That's obviously more than book value. Was it modded? Or did you show them current R ads?

I got my settlement in April of '02 after my ITR was stolen in Feb. of '02. Yes my car was modded and I gathered up every receipt for mods I could find and sent to to my insurance company. They still didn't give me what I paid for all my mods, though.

I remember reading about when yorus got stolen... I bought mine in 7/00 and it was stolen 2/02 with about 28k miles on it. I got about 25k and change for it. Rates didn't go up, but they denied my renewal because I got a ticket too somewhere along the way.
