ITA car for sale cheap...
in my daily check for deals on IT classified, I came across this CRX:
improvedtouring.com classifieds go and look for the 1986 CRX SI
don't know what kind of shape it's in, or how un-competitive it is, but you could be racing for $3k

Would take some work to get it to be a mid-pack car. Easily double his initial asking price. No diff, FD, needs 29mm torsion bars, up-rate the rear springs (desperately needs this from 350lbs!!), adjustable panhard. But the motor looks built from the ad, though with 500 race miles on it, it might be a little tired.
Regional car, but a good starting point. ITA is really kinda getting to be a bad place for the first gen CRX/3rd gen Civic, unfortunately for me

Speaking of 6 grand for a deal.....I'll take the shot to plug another CRX down that page a bit.....1990 CRX, posted September 28.
Disclaimer: I know the car and the owner. He's building a Miata to join the other 10 of us here in Des Moines with Miatas....and the sooner he sells the Honda, the sooner one of his Miatas becomes a race car.

i think a $3k 1g crx is a pretty good deal to start off racing. if you check his times, he's about 6 seconds off the ITA leader, but i tihnk he's in a competitive region too. and who knows if its driver. either way, its still gonna be fun to get out there. this is club racing, you dont have to aim for the $4 trophy to have fun, theres always a race around you.

Agreed about the fun part, but 6 seconds a lap x 20 laps = 2 minutes. Any ITA guys want to chime in on how many times they have lapped another A car during a sprint race? Honestly, I am curious about that, as I likely will be in this very situation.
EDIT: Looks like the Rivergate Accord is for sale again, a little further down on that page.
