Need help choosing out some parts for my system

Need help choosing out some parts for my system
My budget is around $600, so i'm only looking for an amp, sub and new deck. I'm a complete car audio noob, so if anyone has tips on what and what not to get, please let me know. Here's what i came up with so far:
One 12" JL sub for around $150-200
Some kind of amp for it (rockford, alpine) $200
Head Unit with mp3, cdr, cdrw, no XM is fine (alpine, pioneer, jvc) $200
Btw this is for an IS300, not a Honda, but everything should be pretty much the same? Thanks in advance!

u forgot about the box and wiring kit.
talk to vteg about boxes, he can make u a very nice box and pump out very nice bass with his boxes. he makes them himself.
i sell audio stuff, so wutever u decide on, let me know. oh yea, my amps come with a wiring kit and rca's.
