get a better intake manifold, like an Edelbrock

you need engine management and valvetrain

get cheaper, better cam gears

save money and get the AN-R TB, same thing

definately gonna need some valvetrain for any of your cam selections....but i'm gonna have to disagree w/ bolivian and say that the skunk2 manifold is a great choice...but i do agree w/ him that you're gonna need some engine management..ex.hondata, vafc, chipped ecu for your application and a nice size injector....and i'd spend some extra money on a gsr block and sleeve that...85mm on a b16 block is a bit of a stretch...

true about the b18c1 w/ 85mm bore being a stretch, but hey, when i see
a b16a in an engine bay and that car blasts off, i'd be like whoa

I would go with the corsa cam gears, find a TB that can be bored out and have that done- other than that yeah Hondata is good.

I don't like to advertise for companies by purchasing their TB when you could get a stock LS one and bore it out for about 100. But that's just me, if you've got the $ then get Erick's. I will speculate that you are going to get springs/retainers along with your cams-so I'm not going to say "get a valvetrain dude" like everyone else. You may want to look at other rods, talk with Rocket and see if you can score some of his. Don't forget about rod bolts and head studs. ARP seems to be the norm on here, though there are other better companies... HTH

About the skunk manifold, it is a good Bolt On, but when you really get into your setup, you are going to have to bore out the inlet for if you want a bigger TB than 64mm and also port match the runners to the GSR head.

I have had two great engine builders refer to the Edelbrock manifold to me. Both times i said i had the skunk, and both times they said get the edelbrock.

oh i didnt list any valve train stuff, i was gonna use skunk titanium retainers, with jun valve springs. And i thought i listed the vafc but i guess i didnt.......And about the intake manifold, i heard that it was a one up over the edlebrock, including price, and skunk was just better for all motor applications, and edlebrock was better for more insane all motor, or forced induction. Unless those people had no idea what they were talking about. What do you guys think if properly tuned with this setup in my 89 crx hf weighs in at 1900lbs, would put at the wheels, and possibly run in the 1/4.

don't mix and match valve springs and retainers. Get them from the same company, my honest suggestion, EF-1.

The Edelbrock manifold will make more power over 8000rpm than an unmodified skunk 2, if you are upgrading your valve train and everything else to make power over 9k, the edelbrock manifold will cost less and than a modified skunk 2 manifold.

The people who I talked to were Erick Aguilar from ericks racing and Brad from RLZ engineering, so i think they know what they are talking about

Does Skunk2 make cam gears? If so, does anyone have them?

It says what i was saying, more power at higher RPMs, the manifold would be bad if you weren't drag racing or street racing w/o a setup ment to make power up to or over 9k. I'm just sayig what they said they were using/what they could substitute for. I'm personally going to use a Skunk manifold

You could also use a type r manifold. And the Edelbrock throttle body is pretty cheap. It also comes with a TPS.

Yah i could do that too but i dunno......Ill figure out what manifold to get after I get all of the hard stuff taken care of, like sleeving and building the internals and all that. Oh and I think I am going to go with 12:1 je pistons, or should I stop being a ***** and go with 12.5:1
