Default Driveshaft oil seal help

Hello everyone, Im new here, seems to be a nice site.
All sucking up aside, I need to change a transmisson oil seal (the one the driveshaft goes through). Tranny is a JDM Y1 = can I use a USDM B16 (del sol) or a B18A (90-91 teg) oil seal? Or maybe all B-series are the same?
Thank you

I had to replace that seal too, but it was the one on the end of the halfshaft. What i did was pry the old seal out and take it to the autoparts store. They used the little part number thats imprinted on the side and got me the correct one. The part number is very very small but its there. I assume all the B series ones would/should be the same, but i would go with the 90-91 teggy seal if u dont feel like taking the old one in.

IF you dont know already..

Take off the fill bolt first...just incase you can't get it off after you have pulled the drain bolt...

HUh...no one was even talking about draining the oil. But anyways, those fill plugs can be a biotch to get off and in case YOU dont know, u can fill it through the speedo gear hole too. Its a bit easier...

I think he means take out the bolt so that when he tries to take out the seal, the seal wont be stuck in there because of the sucking...is that what ur trying to say? If not then to me

Judging by his second post, i dont think thats what he meant. So yes to you, haha.

And about the sucking thing you are talking about, i think i know what ur tryin to say. But since the seal will need to be removed, the axle will need to be pulled out beforehand, so no "sucking" action would take place, even if it exists (which i doubt).

Thanks for the info everyone. The fill bolt is fine, just checked the oil level. So you can fill with oil through the speedo housing? never thought of that before... thanks again.

Never tryed through the housing itself, but u pull out the speedo gear then fill through the hole in the tranny. Remove the speedo cable, then the 1 10mm bolt, then pull the speedo gear out.
