Anyone/Shop Willing To Help Give Me Details On A H22 Into An Ef...
Ya. I just talked to a guy off here & he just talked bad about the swap & was not trying to help at all. He was like you have to cut your frame & it will bend & weaken it. Yada yada yada. SO I am wanting someone to help me plan this out more. I have ordered the engine already. I am determinded to do it. I have a few ideas but it is alot to type out. So if anyone would like to help & has any ideas that would work & what not just reply & I will e-mail you. I never get my IMs though. So reply & we can talk somehow. Thanks.

Our swap recommendations and viewpoints:
There's the right way and the wrong way to do things. Having seen several difficult swaps, and inappropriate builds, this prompted us to put up this page discouraging certain swaps in particular. Whether or not you heed our advice is totally up to you, but don't say that we didn't warn you.
Building a hybrid takes common sense. We don't want to see you kill/injure yourself in the process or even worse, endanger anyone in the vicinity.
So, here's the list of what we see as inappropriate for a reliable, daily driven car.
H22A (Prelude VTEC) in any Civic/CRX/Integra
The H22A engine leans in the wrong direction
Civic engines have blocks that lean forward while the H22A block leans backwards, towards the firewall. Even though custom fabrication will mount engine, it's still not suitable for this chassis.
Fabrication issues
Custom fabrication is required to get the H22 engine to fit. The stock motor mounts have to be removed and new mounts relocated, making this an expensive job. Modern day cars are designed from the ground up as an integrated structure, and this includes the engine. Moving mounts around causes the structural characteristics to change. Furthermore, it also increases the chance of a screwup happening.
Chronic understeer
The heavy load up front will cause tons of understeer. Furthermore, the added power up front will cause the front end to lose traction too easily. What you have is a car that goes fast, only in a straight line. </TD></TR></TABLE>
this is why you dont have any responses.
