Default ceramic coating on header

As most of you have probably seen that over the years the ceramic coating off of most headers starts coming off and rust starts to form. My question is is there any kind of paint or something i can spray on my header to get it to look better than the surface rust look? i keep my engine bay really clean and the header just makes it look like crap.

thanks

They sell this high temperature paint that looks kinda like the ceramic coating paint, I forgot the color but try your local auto parts.

i tried some 1400 degree temp engine paint and wow i have never seen paint burn so fast, i heard of that stuff called vht engine coating that has ceramic in it, but i dont know if it will stick well to the header.

The only coating that won't burn off is to get it coated by Jet-Hot or Swaintech. Any spray on paint will burn/flake off almost immediately. There was a thread a few days ago about a guy's header turning pink after the paint burned off.

I have heat wrapping on my DC SS header. No rust. It had been used quite a while before me....

The VHT "Flame Proof Coating" works very well.

http://www.pjhbrands.com/vht/high_temp.htm

If you prep the header correctly, and put 3-4 coats on, and let it dry overnight, you will not have any problems with it flaking or burning.

I have personally used the stuff, and it works great. I also have a buddy with his JDM DC 4-1 painted with this stuff. Its been done for a year now, and it looks great. If you want I'll try and get a couple shots of it for later today or tomorrow.

How long has it been on there? What kind of prep work did you do?
How many coats? Do they have drab olive green?
