Default Ground Designs 2000 kit, need help.

I'm seriously trying to figure out if i should get the Ground Designs 2000 kit.

I need to know if the kit is shitty or not, it's all fiberglass so it's probably extremely heavy. It seems like it would flex bad under driving conditions since the shape puts the majority of the weight away from the mounting points.
The sideskirts and bumpers look like they may be a problem while driving.
I'd also like to know how decent the hood is.
The fenders should be fine, they're probably pretty thin. The front bumper sticks waaaay out but that may just mean i need support rods in place, that's easy on the front end.

I just want to talk to someone that's done the kit before so i know what to look out for durring install. And what i'm getting myself into.

If you know of anyone i can call, a shop that's in the middle of the project or something, let me know!

This is for a show car. I think this kit would definately set me apart from the rest of the crowd. I'm not just competing for best CRX but also best of show.
Additions will include Lamborghini style doors, airbag's, custom interior with a old prelude style digital dash along with up'n'down switches for hood, hatch and those cool *** doors. I've found the parts, can do the fabrication. Just need to decide on the kit.

Thanks

If you really want to win best of show, a premade kit wont get you there.... Custom work is your best bet, you get what you want and nothing you dont. And it'll all be original and one of a kind.

Well at least with the ground designs kit i would be 1 of 10? lol I would like to redo the rear, i hate dual exhaust.

As for those of you who obviously have no real help to offer other than posting to bash on good ideas for a CRX show car. You're idiots

It's a show car!!! How would it be wrong to have all of those custom accessories, it's not like im putting vertical doors on my daily driver civic.
::moons the idiot that walked away:: I hate honda-tech too!

I'm the idiot, yet you're the one baggin a CRX. I'm the idiot, yet you're the one planning on putting gay-*** spaceship doors on a perfectly good car and ruin it.... you know, I held my personal opinion about all of your retarded, tasteless ideas on how to thug out your "show car", and I got called an idiot for quoting the absolutely ridiculous ideas you came up with and leaving it up to everyone else to decide on how assinine they thought your plans were for this car(which, i'm sure there are plenty that agree with me)....thanks for leaving one of your lambo doors open for me to stick my foot in and have a reason for telling you how ******* retarded it is to
A: bag a CRX
B: put lambo doors on a CRX
C: put a body kit on a car that costs 2000 dollars(anyone willing to be dumb enough to pay that much for a body kit deserves to be publicly raped)
D: put up and down switches on the hood.

Congratulations. You've just created a 3000 lb. CRX. Make sure to put a DVD screen everywhere possible while you're at it.

I agree... This is a Tech forum and though your topic is somewhat tech it would prolly be taken more seriously on Clubsi.com...

Exactly, The only reason people are being dicks or whatever you want to say is because as he already stated this is a tech forum not an appearance forum go and try your luck in the appearance forum that is the reason why we have it.

Yeah i should have placed this in the appearance forum, i now realize that.

hahaha i knew saying hes an idiot would raz him. I'm just going to make this like every other flame thread, i don't think i've ever been bashed on here hahahaha

Like i said, its a show car, all show cars have wild *** **** that some people like and some people don't. I hate supra taillights in bumpers that are basically a foot off the ground, BUT THEY WIN SHOWS.
The Black widow kit would look great with the doors in the air And i don't fabricate my own kits so yeah i'm going to end up paying an arm and a leg for the stupid thing.
So you're calling all of these import shops with dedicated show cars that have bought this kit idiots for doing so??? They will win prizes and do what they love. There is nothing wrong with it. Nobodys ruining a rex by modifying it, it's an art!

I've made quick hondas and very nice looking ones, i had a plain ole Mugen style kit forever and it looked great, but i want to do something different, something worthy of show, everyones tired of the mugen kit, they want exotics.
And i meant lifters for the hood, saw it done on a 93 RX7 before, was really nice.

You're not an idiot, i'll respect your opinion. just really bitchy, high strung, you need to calm down. haha

Oh and did i mention its a show car, weight doesn't matter, no **** the car will be heavy.

Anyway it was just an idea, i think i'll do it next year

damn what a harsh thread. the lambo door might need reinforcement because the chassis wasnt meant to hold the doors up like that, or so i've heard. i dont get all the flaming anyway. its a show car. not everyone wants to buy a honda and race it. just dont do some gay **** like paint it pink or something. unless your a girl. haha. oh yea and no one deserves to be publicly raped geez get a grip
