Default engine history!

im planning to get a b16. the guy at the shop said hes giving me a b16 from a 96 si. is there way to check when was the motor build and how old it realy is!

look at the head date.

see if he telling the truth should be off like One year if it says 95 it can be 96..

First of all, there was no 96 Si Civic, in the US at least.

The 96 Si's are from Canada, but they don't have a b series, they have a d series engine

He said it was an si, del sol si's come with a d series as well. The ones that came with the b16 were called the del sol vtec.

IMO, you are better off getting an engine from a reputable company like these guys http://www.hmotorsonline.com/


And like vash said, the JDM motors have less miles.
