Brought my car to 230 and back off this morning. What exactly is my top speed?
Have 89 Si
-jdm dohc zc
-ngk plugs and wires
-cai
-gutted cat
-glass pack muffler
-gutted rear
Im canadian so it was 235 km/h

FYI, plugs and wires help.
My speedo was fine and was bouncing but I was with a talon thats tach showed 235. I was at 5250-5300 in fifth when I had to let off because I dont like dodging cars on the higway that fast Just wondering how much the extra 2000 rpm would have game me.

Your speedo is way off going that fast, you are not going 145 MPH, there is no way in hell you are going that fast with that motor and those mods.
A stock S2000 barely touches 150 MPH when stock. Again your speedo is way off traveling that fast, an on top of that you dont have the HP to go that fast.
Plugs and wires help the car run like it should, they are not mods and will not increase HP.

ive went 130 in my crx si and got pulled over topping it out too... goodbye license! that happened about a month ago and im gonna lose it at the end of this month or next month

yes 236. It's cause it's built for lower RPMs due to fuel economy. Therefore, you would want to be very low RPM at 70MPH in 5th (2127RPM vs my DX which is 3110RPM at 70MPH in 5th). SO theoretically the way it is geared you could do 236. having the power to do that and enough space to do so...probably damn near impossible.

Yeah right, I filled up my gas tank and I gained 7 WHP

Realfasthonda - don't forget that running 92 octane gas gives you HP increase over 89 octane
The only time you're going to see HP gains from plugs & wires are if your old plugs & wires were so worn out and weren't operating as they should. perhaps in certain FI cases where you need a better spark to combust the extra fuel.

i think 7 hp could be gained there. especially a turbo, v8, or even modded rice burner. i see that could happen easily, why do u guys think not? depends which car he had, which engine, etc etc. who knows he could have anything.. dont talk unless u know what you are talking about. if i can go 130 with about 100 hp i think he could go 17.5 more mph with about 40 more hp than me.. and if plugs and wires dont work, then why do they have *performance* plugs and wires...? jw...

then what do u call them? taking out the back of your interior is a mod, zip tying your gas tank up b.c its too rusty to hold itself up is a mod.. but ok w/e u say dude... im not intentionally trying to dog on u guys, i just think its gay when all anyone on HT wants to do is act like an ******* every chance they get

Those are ghetto mods, zip tying a gas tank is a mod? How is that gonna make your car any faster?
I was just clarifying what a mod is, at least in my eyes. A mod is doing something to your car that makes it significantly faster. And zip tying a gas tank is not a mod, nor is getting "performance plugs and wires".
I guarantee after putting those "performance" plugs and wires on your car, you will not see any significant performance gains as far as 1/4 mile times or on the dyno.

hahahhahahahha do u know what mod stands for dude? its ....modification... andy modifications are... MODS! ok get it now? u wouldnt say u were beign an ***? i would.. thats my opinion tho i guess. my old crx had a zip tie gas tank, yes ghetto but it is a mod. mods dont have to make u any faster... thats my last post im not gonan get this guy to have his post locked b.c were arguing over stupid little stuff.
Thanks for explaining guys, but does anyone have an accurate guess on what my top speed should be, forgot to add its a Si tranny with a resurfaced flywheel. It isnt windy at all really but it took me 11 kms to reach that speed.
Me and my friend in the talon and another in a integra just went in all 3 lanes in a lane and went 90km/h until traffic was a distant sight and just gave it to see who coiuld top out, the LS topped out at about 215-220 and I stayed even with the talon until we came barrelling into traffic and I had to dodge a truck. Friend said we hit 235 and it took quite a bit to stop.
I am also lowerred 1.75 all the way around.
Dunno how my tires held though, there winter ********
