I have a 91 STD hatchback and I just put in an Si ashtray and lighter with wiring harness. (The Si's have lighted ashtrays and lighters whereas the other models don't.) The lighter works fine. It heats up and does everything it should, but none of the lights either on the ashtray or the lighter are coming on with the headlights. What is the deal? The plug built into my car has four prongs. The harness for the lighter with no lights has two prongs. The Si lighted harness has four slots and it plugs in to my 4-prong socket. Is it not compatible? I thought interior wiring for the most part was the same in 90-91 civics reguardless of trim level.

i have a standard hatch, and have the lighted ashtray and lighter..hm..wonder why....and the interior wiring is different between all the models, well..at least the plugs anyways

 

It is just really strange. I have a base hatch and I pulled it from an Si hatch. Maybe the bulbs are burned or something. I had another question: since you said you had an si minus the wiper and sunroof, did you put the Si footrest in? The Si I pulled it from had the bolts in the floor to attach it to, but my base doesn't. It has two notches where the bolts could be installed. Have you put this in? How do you get to the rear of the footwell metal to put in two bolts? I really want this footrest. Thanks.

 

man, i sure wish i had a dead pedal as well! it pisses me off that i have holes in my carpet there where the dead pedal should be. damn honda going uber cheap on the Std Civic.
