1990 Accord shakes at Idle
I have a 1990 Accord 5 spd. When I am sitting at an idle the whole car starts to vibrate. If I step on the gas and increase the RPM's to 1000, the vibration stops. The car runs fine once I get above the idle speed. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing my problem. Thanks

Sounds like your motor mounts. The front mount is probably the worst offender, but you'll want to check the others too. Hope it's not the back, 'cause that one's more difficult to replace and is more expensive. Just replaced my front mount ('90 with 4-sp auto) and it made a world of difference.
Thanks for the reply. I am reading the tach that is in the instrument panel in the car. I have it running at about 800 RPM's. I'll check the motor mounts.
How did you determine that the mount was bad? Does the rubber get hard so that the engine vibrations are not buffered by the rubber bushings anymore? If I take out one mount at a time, start the car and let it idle, will that help me find the bad one?
