Default Advancing the timing on a 1991 CRX si

I'm looking at adding turbo to my 1991 CRX si, and someone reccomended to me among many other items that I need to do is to advance the timing on my CRX stock motor by 1 degree before boosting. My question is simple. How do I perform this. I've done timing adjeustments long ago on my dad's old V8, but I think that it is much different for the Honda motors.

Thanks.

your ignition timing is controled by turning your distributor. towards the fire wall to advance and the opposite to retard. you will need a timing light and i suggest reading a manuel before you advance it.
