I have a 96 gsr, I had it in a body shop for about 2 months and when I went to go pick it up yesterday the battery was dead and i had to jump it to start it , about 30 min later i stopped by a gas station to fill up, Once again my car wouldn't start after being shut off, so I jump start it again. I finally got it started and went on about a 1.5 hour drive. After turning it of for like 1 min, it wouldnt start again, so my last attempt was to charge it with lights and everything of for like 1 hour, same thing happened after turning of the car, 2 sec later it doesn't start. My question was: is it my battery? or is it my alternator? Sorry for the long boring paragraph.

 

if the car didnt shut off during that 1.5 hour drive, its most likely not your alternator. soudns to me like the battery sat to long and just died. how old is the battery? chances are you are gonna have to replace it tho.

 

battery was on when I bought my car a year ago so I dont know, Thanx for your help

 

buy a new battery...
