I know our kars are heavy but........

Notice how you can totally "disturb" it and still open/shut the door

(I jacked the drivers rear corner up till only the passenger front tyre was on the ground, both doors opened perfectly fine Never in a million years would my EG do this)

and a short vid to show...enjoy

yep, the ep3 is SOLID. that was really the first thing I noticed when I took it for a test drive - pulling off the dealer lot, I came over this speed bump, at an off angle, and it was amazing how there was so little flex in the chassis.

sometimes light wieght is good, but sometimes more weight is justifiable in the name of stiffness.

True, my EK's doors don't open and close perfect with the car jacked up like that.

Yea, Pretty cool...also the dc5 as most would assume is the same way.
Even in the shop where I work, at the dealer on a "level" 4-post lift from the four factory specified lifting points the old dc2, eg, eh, and all the rest would still have chassis flex and jar if you opened the door(s). The ep3 and dc5 are solid. Gotta love that.

Why a 97? Are they not the same as the 98-01 ITR's? What is your point?

Minor chassis stiffing upgrades in 98 Spec and onward, IIRC. Compared to 96 Spec anyway.

And I was quite impressed after getting a ride in an EP3.

Actually, after I put the full assortment of Spoon bars on my DC2R it can be lifted anywhere and I can shut my door from any angle. I attempted to do the same with a stock GSR and the difference in chassis ridigity was night and day compared to my R.

The EP3 is a very solid chassis though and doesn't give up anything to the DC2R.

Yack, you need to gut the EP3 and run H1....

A gutted EP3 would be mega kaa-show points, right? All you need is the British flag decal on the back like the JDM CTRs have.

more than rigid vs. the DC2R.

the extra weight is used quite well.

I had to rotate tires today, so I tried the jacked the driver side rear to life the front tires up on my DC Integra, and what do you know, the doors open and close perfectly fine. However I do have some chassis stiffening mods.
