FINALLY my car is quiet(er), but CEL still on...
Well, I just got a JG Edelbrock header on last week, but the header was made for the '00 and up GS-Rs so the header was too long. I ordered a test pipe and finally got everything bolted up today. My ears are so happy. The car pulls a lot harder everywhere in the power band, back pressure ownz me. One problem though, my CEL didn't go away after I reset the ECU. I never pulled the code (I'm lazy), but I assumed it was for the O2 sensor, considering it was 4 inches from fresh air (on the collector of the header). Naturally it was running pig rich trying to compensate for the extra air it thought the engine was getting, but I only ran around for a few days like this, and even then it wasn't much driving. I know running rich can ruin an O2 sensor, but could I have blown my O2 sensor that fast? I'm confused. Maybe I didn't let the car sit long enough to let the ECU reset, but I unplugged the fuses (7.5A and 15A backup and ECU fuses under the hood) and left them out for a good 15-20 minutes. Any input would be appreciated. TIA.

you might have f-d the o2 sensor up-- i did when mine popped out of hte bung, placed it back in, and ran the car. it ran HELLA rich, and blew it out. Might just try swapping out w/ a new one-- and don't get cheap and put a used one in-- go with a new one, so if you have any problems you KNOW its not the used one.
