Alright guys, I had some old movies of Battle of the Imports at palmdale back in 98 or so, can't remember but anyways, People were taking off the back trunk of the tegs or so and taping them up with huge plastic bags, to reduce weight I guess, but now, you don't see that anymore. Would that be good taking off the trunk lid? It is heavy too. Will it help??

 

the glass is the heaviest part, it would probably be better to buy a trunk lid from a salvage yard, put lexan instead of glass, and cut out the inside of it if it has bracing you dont need.. it should be really light by then, or buy a fiberglass one..
