Fender Elimination Kit
What exactly is a "fender elimination kit"? I know that it gets rid of that ugly piece of plastic in the back of the bike, but does it involve cutting? What is the difference between getting a kit and chopping it off yourself?
hmm.. i know what the kit does, i was just wondering what it is, physically. i.e. when you get a fender elimination kit, what's in the kit?

Enjoy.
I bought my ex500 with a fender eliminator kit. It looks a little more sporty then my friends stock ex500. It look like all it consists of are a bracket to mount the license plate and some ricey turn signals.

Some new turn signals and some nice aluminum pieces to eliminate the fender. Very nice and top notch. Oh and instructions to do it.

basically it's a piece of trimmed sheetmetal and some brackets. first you chop off the plastic rear fender, from the license plate area to under the tailsection. the sheetmetal acts as the new undertray, and brackets are supplied to hold the signals and license plate.
an undertail kit is usually a painted piece of plastic that does the same job as an eliminator, but looks much cleaner and sometimes restyles the taillights.

use a dremmel. save you some money. but if your the type to keep your old fenders, buy the kit. careful that they have a good return policy too. because they say it fits, but when you rip everything to put it on, its completely wrong.
yeah i understand they have some quality control issues they need to work out
Competition Werks is pretty good thought. Thast who makes the fender eliminator, or the best one i have found.
