What knock sensor to use for ZC with AFC 2?
I am building a turbo ZC and want to get a SAFC 2. I want to be able to use the knock sensor indicator so I need to mount a knock sensor. What knock sensor should I get? Anyone have any ideas on mounting it? Thanks
i want to install a knock sensor on my d16y7 also. i can't hear any detonation, but i'd like to know if i was. would a b-series knock sensor work if i were to thread it to the block or head? what kind of monitor can i get?...maybe i can hook it up to my wb02 input and log it with my pda.
You can use the GM/AC Delco sensor or the B series VTEC knock sensor. The thread pattern on the B series knock sensor makes it a little difficult to deal with though. I have a couple of the GM/AC Delco sensors if you're interested. They are the ones that come with the J&S Safeguard systems. PM me if interested.

since this thread seems to have brought the best of people out and I'd like some input as well, TTT.
Has/is anyone using the AFC with either knock sensor on a SOHC ? If so where should we mount it and what is the proper torque spec to give accurate readings ?
