Vent: Scratched my side skirts with bunjee cord!
Just like the topic says, I am just venting because I left the car cover on my car and not garaged like I normally do... It was flapping in a storm that came up and so I put a bunjee cord to hold the cover on - through the appropriate holes on the sides...
Well, the rubber cap must've pulled off the bunjee cord and the wind blew the cover and flapped it enought to scratch the oem side skirts pretty good on one side.
I had shopped for a rubber covered cable lock, but couldn't find the right size!
I guess it's a good thing I bought the touch up paint and have the carcareonline.com instructions for repairing scratches, etc. I had a couple of other nicks in my paint I was gonna work on... I guess this is one more.
Sorry to hear that man.
A slight modification to the care online suggestions that my paintless dent repair dude made to me was instead of getting a pencil and using it with sand paper to clean the "wound", get a little fiberglass pencil tool (anyone know what these are called). These look like a pencil, except the lead is made of fiberglass, and allows pinpoint sanding. You'll probably not be able to get all of the crap out, so he also suggested a rust neutralizer be applied before painting.
Good luck with your repairs! Keep us informed.
