Default Egr question

I know this has been up semi recent, but everytime I try to do a search nothing comes up. Either way, I tried just unplugging my egr and I got a cel. Didn't really surprise me, but some people have been saying that if you unplug it and reset the ecu no cel's will throw. Aparently not for me.

My question is this: If I install an egr block off plate and unplug my egr will it still throw a code? I assume so, but what if I leave my egr plugged in and still put the block off plate on, will I still throw a code?

I'm planing on going with a p28 (I will completely change the fuel map and timing... and will leave the seccondaries open all the time) so either way I won't need to worry about the codes when that happens.

Let me know what you guys think, I appreciate it!

Put on a block-off plate, put it all back together and leave it plugged in - then you won't throw a code.

For the record, this will only work for obd1. Obd2 looks for flow so you'll just get another cel.
