Default UPDATE: went to the 1/8 mile track with my b16a 88 crx hf gutted. now the 1/4!!!

well update i wen to carlsbad raceway. Man that track is shitty the whole track either side is crappy i will not go back for awhile. but anyway here are the times.

old best run 1/8th mile:

2.284 60ft
9.438 1/8th
75.12 trap speed.

set-up:

B16a1, S1 tranny, type R intake manifold, AEM short ram intake, DC 4-1 header, 2 1/4 custom exhaust, carsound cat, unorthodox crank pulley.

running Nitto 555R's 205/55/14's at 19psi

New best time run in 1/4 mile:

.995 RT
2.365 60ft
9.319 1/8th mile
78.45 1/8th mph
14.325 1/4 mile
97.48 1/4 mph

Setup same as before except:

Injen short ram. everything changed over to obd1. stock 2nd gen b16 intake manifold. and chipped p28 tuned by <HardLowrdRanger>.

so as you can see by the times i got worse traction at carlsbad and i had the stock intake manifold on . and i beat my old 1/8th mile trap speed by almost 3 mph. i think if i would have stayed a lil longer i would have gotten a 14.2xx because my runs went like this.

14.349
14.331
14.325

so i was slowly moving my way down and my 60 ft's were getting lower so if i could have pulled the 60ft i got at the Q i for sure would have gotten the 14.2. but i was not hooking as good with the new program because the powerband is way stronger. but i think if i got the intake manifold back on and got my 60's down i think i could pull closer to a 14.1 or even a 14.0. which would be nice.

any questions?

I'm having trouble's getting my 60ft down. I have a itr swap in my 98 hx coupe and I run 2.1 60 foots. If you get the bfg's let me know how they work for because I have the nitto's and I still overpowering them. I have also thought about some traction bars.

I pulled 9.4's on street tires now pulling 8.6's on slicks and juice. Just practice and it will all come together for you. keep up the good work. forgot I drive 90 Crx DX with JDM B16 swap also.

for a long time i was running 9.5 and 9.6 with street tires. put on the cheater slicks and ran a 9.2, put on the slicks and running 8.6, with a few extra mods. all at qualcomm....cutting 1.9 60 foot, i think this last time, with a new tranny and a few more mods, finally cut a 1.8 60 foot. i've had great hook up at the q.

qualcomm 60fts suck, I give you made props for pulling a 1.8. My best is a 2.1 w/ slicks, thats about the best Ive seen running other peeps with slicks. I ran a 9.8 @68mphs with a 2.1. last time I was there some homey was running high 10s with a b16 crx, so your not too bad. With that trap you have potential to run a hell of alot better though

yeah, moved back home to be closer to the family......and the racing! just got a job at the la auto show...and i love it!

lots of racing this month, will you be attending pomona or california speedway?

good luck racing tomorrow. may want to try the nittos, that what i ran when i moved into the lower 9's. try racing on the far left track instead of the right. might have better traction...don't forget to lower your tire pressure. start at 15 and work down to 12...good luck!

the point is that the Q is the closest thing to street racing because your launching on gravel not a concrete launch pad.......if i wanted sick times then yea i would go to another track like barona but i am trying to say yea i ran a XX.XX at the Q and thats just about the same as i would run if i was on the street..........you know how us street racers are

wasn't counting out barona...i just figured mike was racing at the q. don't get me wrong, i'm a supporter of both tracks....in fact i used to work for both tracks simultaneously....still working for barona.

i know what you mean, same reason why i like the q better. something about it being so sanctioned and "professional" is just... boring to me. its also cool how the spectators can go and talk to the racers too.

hmm so i am pulling higher traps than you were...........but your times were way better than mine because of those slicks. comparing 60's you had me off the line by about.......... .6 seconds..........and you beat me by .6 seonds in the ET........but why is my MPH higher is that because of traction problems or is my car just faster?

Most of the time if you have higher traps but slower E.T's it means traction but that's just from my experience.
