Take the ecu out of the car, opn it up and see if it says AT or MT on the board. That will answer your question.

Most ecu's have a stamp on the cicuit board AT for automatic MT for manual. I have the same ecu myself.

Which code are you getting? It's probably the vss(vehicle speed sensor). Sounds like the same problem I had. I would get a code after a couple of minutes and it was the vss. Does your vtec work? It probably doesn't(it shouldn't if it's the vss code). Vtec only turns on when you're going over 10 or 20mph, can't remember how fast exactly, and the rev limiter kicks in around 7600. Basically your computer thinks your standing still and when you're standing still vtec does not kick in and the fuel cut-off lowers to 7600. I ended up replacing my gauge cluster( that's where the vss is located on some hondas) and that fixed it. Now vtec kicks in and I can rev to redline. But when I stand still and I rev vtec doesn't kick in and it cuts off at 7600.

First thing you have to do is check your code. Just search on here on how to do it on your car, it's easy and that will tellyou what to do next.

What kind of car/chassy/engine are you running?
Did you just the swap?
Any other problems? Wiring?

Good Luck

my vtec works fine. Vtec kicks in at 5200rpm and fuel cutoff at 7600rpm.

I ran a p28 ecu. vtec kicks and No codes.

well i kinda have a similar problem...

pw0 computer runnin 2000 itr, in 91 teg...I just got the vtec to work and come to find out as soon as i hit 4th gear and at 80 mph it shuts down...then when i down shift back to 3rd it wont come back on...the only way for it to come bak on is to shut down the car while still drivin and sometimes that doesnt work then i hafta clear the ECU..I thought it was that secondary o2 sensor so i spliced the wire from the first o2 in c16 and ran it to c08 like i was told to do...and didnt do anything for me...anyone have any idea.. what should i do
