taking off timing belt cover
i believe its the back timing belt cover i need to take off and i need some advice on how to do it. im doing it because when i installed my cams i had to cut the top part of the back cover so i can slip the cams off. i dont know if this has to be done for all b series engine or just for gsrs. anyways, a piece of the cover is sometimes hitting my cam gears, the inside part and thats where i think im getting the so called clicking noise from. so i want to take off the back cover all together. how do i do it? i looked at c-speed's on how to do timing belt change for some referace but it still left me with some questions.
1. any drawback from taking off the back timing belt cover?
2. how do i take it out since c-speed only the bottom timing belt cover.
3. is it easy as to take off the crank pulley as to put it on? nothing will fall out or needs to be aligned back other than the belts needs to be installed?
4. with the back cover off, can the front be installed back securley? if not is ther going to be other markigs available to use to determine TDC on the block other than the lower t-belt cover?
i prob come up with more questions later
thanks!

once you get in there, it will make sence. i think there are about 5 small bolts that hold the cover on
i borrowed a freinds electric impact gun. i sprayed mucho liquid wrench and used a high powered work light i use to warm up the bolt.
that took it off.
you just need to take off the a/c, power steering, and alternator belt
you want to have the cover on, you will take away life from the timing belt.
go buy a helms manual if you want to make sure u are going to do it right

i got the helms but it doesnt show explain every detail so i need ht as a help resource. i dont have the helms with me, being that i am at school, but looking back into the timing belt cover parts in acuraautomotiveparts.org, its actually the top back cover. i would want to keep the cover, its my last resort if all else fails. if possible, i would take the cover i need off, cut some plastic out and put it back on.
ill study more into this, i steel need to order an electic impact from HF.
keep the help comming!
thanks again!

to run aftermarket cam gears you have to take off the back cover or it will rub _ I only have been using the bottom cover for a while now and no problems. When you take off the crankshaft pulley the only thing that will fall out is the key that aligns the pulley on the crankshaft, just be careful when pulling off the pulley and be ready to catch it - its small and easy to loose. Yes there are other marks that will allow you to align tdc on the block.
by the way when I took off my crackshaft pulley it took a moroso crankshaft pulley tool and a 4ft long breaker bar with my fat *** jumping up and down on it to break loose. It will laugh at any harbor freight tools.
