May gain some, but not a lot... Most people just like them because they make the car *sound* faster.

You gain some here and there and maybe loose a little low end. Other than that, $177 is a good price

hey,
buy my AEM CAI for your ITR.
it only has 600 miles on it and is in perfect condition
no need to to spend extra.
email me an offer.

Extending the intake pipe will lose throttle response.

Screw the 180 buck CAI, you need to spend 500+ on a mugen intake!

so you get +1 whp in the powerband at 8200 but lose 3-4 whp in the 4000-6000 rpm region.

tizzle.

how much are you wasting on this mod again?

FWIW, I have a pretty worked motor, and the stock intake chokes the top end power. Right now I just have a partially cut AEM(about a foot long) with the filter and thats it. not that great for drag racing(you can actually feel it sucking in the hot air from the motor after sitting at the line for a second or two), but at speed its great and throttle response is nice, and top end it pulls a lot harder than the stock intake. just my 2 cents.

get a comptech ice box for like $150-160 shipped from http://www.speeddistributors.com and then either use a comptech foam filter....which i don't feel comfortable with or the k&n filter for hte teg. nice gains through out the power band....and sounds good too.

Better yet, make a DIY "Icebox" cold air extension to your stock airbox with a filter of your choice.

if you want short ram.. heres an idea: remove your factory box and run intake arm and filter..

as for the noise.. if that what you're into.. then run no lid on either comptech or factory box.
