Default J's "style" intake in my dc2

I'll let the pictures speaks for themselves.

16x12 hundreds ~~> .orig.jpg

First off, I have seen the j's style intake for sale in classified section and there only for 92-95 civics' w/ side port intake manifold. And I was told that it would not fit integras' with abs. I went ahead and bought one from iluvjasmine, and I am determined to make it work.

Now this is not a throw in kind-of ordeal. It's needs to be customized.
I just happen to have an extra intake arm lying around, so I cut it in half.
The coolant reservoir tank has to be removed and put somewhere else.
This is going to require some pushing/sweating/cursing etcetera.....

My first impression of this J's "style" intake is pretty loud. Once you’re on the throttle, it screams like a ****...it brings delights to my ears. The tone is very deep and kind-of echoes in a way.

I have a full stock usdm itr header/cat/b-pipe/axel back.

p.s i like to drive.

for your coolant resevoir, you might want to extend the line and move the bracket + the tank to behind your driver side headlight

Nice looking - Never seen a j's intake modded to a gsr - There is 2 problems i see with it though, the 2 intake arm bends are very 90 degree, which actually can hinder performance, especially such a fierce bend. 2nd your cone - look where it is sucking - in a "blind" corner - pure hot air imo. Abs to the left, hot raditor to the right and sheet metal below it with the opening below and be hind it ... unless you widened out the hole where the resonator comes from. I like it . then i dont... it has its drawbacks, does it have any noticeable difference besides sound over previous intake?

the 90 degree bend you speak of..is not that 90, it's actully a very natural bend of the stock intake arm. 2. "blind" corner you mention is not a very valid reason..air is everywhere and is constantly travling. no dyno to see what is gain or what is loss. btw the intake makes my vtec sounds alot meaner.

a 90 degree bend in an intake is nothing to wory about, at all. plus we are talking about intakes here.. its like 1 or 2 hp who gives a flying ****.

that filter is all pressed up against stuff and the rest looks too tight as well...what's the point of putting all that effort into something like this?

you dont even need the gsr stock intake tube - j's intake is made for itr/ls/rs or gsr with skunk2 im - skunk2 im is pretty much same position as ITR - j's intake will work for you b18chillin

The real J's racing intake was made to work w/ those cars, but the only fake/replica ones available are for civics w/ no ABS. THe intake pipe in this thread will probably work on an integra w/ no ABS and ITR manifold, but i have yet to see it done.

I certainly am not digging the RED intake. I think the J's intake is UGLY but it is functional.

Sorry but it being red makes it look like a big red swollen peni$ that got Jammed in your engine bay.

It does go well with the car though RED/RED But don't mind me.

Even though he put alot of time and effort in making the intake work, i'll give him props for that. It was a great idea to try out, but to me, in the end, an intake is an intake, your not going to notice anything when you are going 80mph at 7000rpm with either a j's racing, short ram, or AEM

The J's Racing Design is supposed to FUNNEL the AIR into the IM that way even at the BEND the full diameter of the Pipe is filled with AIR. The design is also supposed to Accelerate the Air as the Pipe gets smaller. Kind of like the Venturi Effect.

Like when you take a water hose and without a nozel the water just flows out with gravity but you take your thumb and cover part of the Opening then the water SPRAYS out.
