Spoon N1 Exhaust Loud or Not?
I have read several places in several threads where people said that the Spoon N1 is LOUD like TOO Loud. Yes it is Loud, but it has to be one of the nicest sounding exhausts I know. She Screams when you get on her for sure. I tested out a Sub Silencer and N1 today. I was Running a Feel's cat back up until today. The Feel's Cat back is Nice Good for track use and nice Deep Low Tone not so loud as Spoons but nice as quiet at Mugen TwinLoop. I was quiet impressed with the tone. It was Deep not that annoying weedwacker sound. Then we put in the Sub Silencer. There is no noticable decrease in performance while driving on the street but I am sure you will notice it on the track.
The Db's certainly decreased and the Tone was pretty much the same Nice and Deep not like the Farting noise some people call it.
Well I wanted to try something differnt so I went with it. I will pick it up Tomorrow Shoot No Thursday then. Yah Anyway I will try to get a sound Clip to post cause I think this site is lacking one. Peace
Oh BTW the Spoon B pipe was used during the test. I would recommend a larger Resonator to make it quieter if you need to Maybe even forego the Subsilencer.

I find that Alot of People who think that The Spoon N1 is Too Loud also think that a Mugen Twinloop is loud
Most people who own them will tell you its better sounding and quieter than most N1's out there. Also much deeper sounding.

LOL
The Car that I tested was the Demo Car at Type One so it has a few KM on it and there was a good amount of Carbon so YES broken in.
I guess LOUD is a relative term. Put it this way, if you are looking for a Factory Sounding Exhaust go with the Street Type. It is Nice too, has a straight through design just not as efficient as the N1.
If you don't mind people hearing you coming then the N1 is a good setup. I guess My main Comment was that the Subsilencer didn't make the Sound tone change to that awful weedwacker sound Like some of the APEXi's I've heard with the silencer. It made it quieter but the tone was the same. Still Nice and Deep.
Anyway I guess it is an aquired taste not everyone will like the N1 but it is one of the best I have heard and I am not one to like it so loud.

the sound level of spoon n1 (again w/ oem header & oem b-pipe) is OVERRATED. it is not as loud as many think.
on a side note, i have a full spoon exhaust system; i.e. header, b-pipe, n1. i will attest to the fact that the oem header, oem b-pipe, & spoon n1 combination is LOUDER and LESS DEEP than the full spoon system.
bottom line: get the n1 and have some fun!
kepani-who might need an ear cleaning.

I love my Spoon N1!
JDM 4-1, Carsound cat, T1R B-pipe and Spoon N1 definitely not as loud as the Apex'i N1 I had on my Prelude w/ stock header and cat. Not as loud as everyone says

Yeah FIRST time I EVER saw one on a car in real life couple weeks back sounded real nice on an LS.. my buddy raced it and I didn't think it was that loud.. **** it's nothing compared to an apex n1.. but then again those are loud.. haha.

Damn really
I was thinking about going with this (along with the T!R B pipe). Would it be louder than my Apexi N1 and also what is the measurement of the piping of the axleback and of both the Spoon B pipe and of the T1R B pipe (is it 63mm or 65mm)? Thanks!
<---- looking for something stainless steel to replace his Apexi N1!

Too loud for a daily driver in my opinion. It was wickely sick sounding in VTEC. There was definately a performance gain, but looking over my shoulder for cops got old quick so I sold it.
