Default Camber issues...please help

Hey guys, I have a 1994 Honda civic Coupe and I went to have my alignment done but they weren't able to start it because the tests on the machine showed that my alignment is off 1degree.

The tech told me to get a camber kit for the rear and front and now that's where I'm stuck at.

I have no idea what kind camber kit I should get.

I was quoted $400.00-/+ for a Ingals(SP?) camber kit for the front and rear.

I'm just wondering, does anybody know what kind kit I should get for my car??? or what I should do about my camber issue??

thanks
bartek

The Ingalls kits work fine. I assume you lowered the car?

Ingalls is good for the front and rear. But, to save some cash, you can just shim the rear upper control arms out to spec with shims or washers.

I would run a search on "rear camber kit" or "washer camber" for a how-to on doing the rear camber. There is a trick that you can do, to adjust the rear camber without having to buy a camber kit. It involves using washers as spacers in the rear. I don't really have time right now to get into it, but you should not have a problem finding this information on this site. That way you will only need to buy camber kits for the front.

Hope this helps, or maybe somebody else can fill you in on the "Washer Trick".

^--^ see I told you somebody could help you with this.

Save even more money by doing the washer trick in the rear, and having the alignment shop bend your forks up front.

Don't do that. The washer trick is one thing, but bending the forks is silly, even if you can find a trustworthy tech to do it.

I have the same car and same suspension setup, I saved and got the spc adj. balljoints for the front and the adj. control arms for the rear, I think it cost me 280.00 shipped from ard performance.com, the spc kit is some quality stuff and it is a piece of cake to install.
good luck!!!!

They're talking about putting washers behind the upper arms in the rear to move the top of the rear wheels away from the centerline of the vehicle. The right way is to use a camber kit for the rear too, but this does work.
