Default Looking for an Intake as a first mod for my EP

I'm looking for an intake for my 2003 EP3. Everyone is telling me to get a CAI either from Injen or the AEM one. But because of the conditions i have to drive in, it wouldn't be practical for me. Short Ram doesn't have as much gain, but is that all I'm limited to? Someone suggested the COMPTECH Icebox Cold Air Intake. I don't know much about mods and cars, can anyone help a newbie?

Here is an alternative to your dilema, Neuspeed P-Flo intake for the 02+ civic SI. Short ram intake w/cold air ram effect, don't have to worry about the filter getting wet. Brand new in the box, unused. Selling for $180 shipped to your door step. Copy and paste:

The largest gain I've seen for an aftermarket
intake on the Si isn't enough to justify a price
over $150 (that's my personal opinion).
You should be able to find dyno sheets on the
manufacturers webpages and you might also
want to check ephatch.com out as well.
All that said, I just bought a used AEM CAI for
$115, shipped. Not a bad deal, I figured. It
was in good condition, a couple scratches but
no biggie.
I think the Icebox runs over $200 as do some
of the CAI's.

yeah if i were to get the CAI i was going ot lean toward the INJEN RD one, but i don't wnat it getting flooded with water or snow. Does anyone know how far down the CAi from Injen go? if it's not too far down i might jsut go with that. So i'm narrowing it down to the INJEN CAI or the comptech ice box...

imo, stick with stock since you don't want a cai, but if you were to get a cai, go for injen.
