Cheapest tried and true way of getting 170whp out of a obd1 b16a2? (don't say nos)
I know for a fact that 165whp is possible with just JUN III cams, I/H/E, and barely any tuning. I would suspect that I could have gotten 168 with some tuning. Don't think there was much more to be had. This dyno was a Dynojet in our area which is claimed to be a lower HP rating than what you would normally see. None the less, I would think you could get CTR pistons, and a high lift/duration cam and hit 170 fairly easily.
* I'll add that this was on a stock block and head, just cams, I/H/E so.... yes it's that easy!*
