Default CRX with b18 ??

I'v tried searching for topics about motor swaping a b18 to a CRX.. I only got one topic and its not even about swaping it

Will a b18 be good for a CRX?

I'm thinking to buy another honda for around 3 k...

what can i do with 3 K and make a CRX fast? and run low 15s?

I have an 89 crx with a 92 b18 and i love it. Perfect amount of torque for daily driving. I'd never put a b16 in and wait till 5000 rpms for power. Also, I'm doing a new head right now with crower stage 3 cams and a port and polish and i think it's gonna drive great.

all B series motors will ROCK UR CRX.

B18 will have torque and will make ur car shake maybe brake few axels

b16a has vtec and it will make u wanna hit it every day.

like the guy said b16a high end and b18 low end. b16a with a good tranny = lot of fun.

b18 is hell fun also.

the choice is urs

fyi: just make sure you get a STRONG MOTOR

Try a little harder on the search my man. Read through some of those and you should find more than enough info on everything you'll need to know and do for your swap.

Here's what I put in: b18c in a crx, pretty self explanatory. Here what I got....

Your search for b18c in a crx returned the following 55 results.

The following words are too short and were not included in your search: a, in.

In addition, words that are too common in this data collection may have been removed from your search.

I really don't know how much more helpfull to be, unless I came to where ever your are and searched for you.

Here try this:
1. Go and click on search.
2. Type in b18c in a crx.
3. Click on archived search.
4. Leave forums open.
5. Click next.
6. Read through all of the threads that come up.

You could show up at the CRX meet in San Antonio the first week on November and see a few B swapped CRXs

Actually I read somewhere that about all the USDM Honda chassis were overly built in the load capacity since the early 80's .
Translation: the B18 in the front of the CRX will put it closer to its load capacity, instead of well below it. Less understeer? YES. I can vouch.

Torque? YES. I can vouch.
Ponies? YES. I can vouch.
The B18 swap is really great in that the clutch in it is engineered to move a heavier car, thus it is a bit heavier duty for the Civic. Instant upgrade.
The motor weighs more, so it will put a more proper load on the front end. I am not sure however about the F/R balance, and the Cross.
I personally think the B18 should have been in the EF chassis from the start. Others thought that the D16 Engine was too big for it. Get yer swap done, and make your own mind. You will not regret it.

Scott
P.S. I am currently underway on my SECOND B18 Swap. This time I am going into an EF Civic Hatchy... I like them glass sunroofs.
I plan to deck it out with strobes, red LED flashers, and a Siren for my Vol. Fire Dept. Any one want to see a Fire equipped EF Civic? Send donations.

3rd annual San Antonio CRX Meet
11/8 and 11/9

The Official First Annual Club CRX SoTex Poker Rally Challenge
The most engaging course developed. This course has a well
balanced assortment of roads. There will be a number of hills and
twisties, high speed stretches, and traffic light and stop laden
streets. It will prove to be a very challenging course to
complete with in the time window.

All Things CRX Swap Meet
Push, pull, drag, or carry it to this meet. If you don't
have stuff to sell or trade, then bring your cash. I will be
posting the stuff on the web site that people want to sell. You
will need to contact those selling if you wish to buy.

The First Annual Club CRX SoTex Show and Shine
With it such a success at the Austin meet, we'll be hosting
our own. I will be defending my title as most in need of a paint
and wax job. The rest of you can fight for Cleanest Ride, Most
Stock, Riciest, Most Unique Mod, and Best over all.

The Third Annual Club CRX SoTex Big *** Hill Country Drive
This drive is not for the faint of heart or those with
mileage-a-phobia or drivicus toomuchia. There is more high speed
runs and hairpin/switch back twisties than you can shake a
dipstick at. For those of you with tight suspensions, we have a
road with no less than 17 cattle guards to test out. Also, those
with the big brake conversions can test them while dodging cattle
and other various wild animals.

Yep, we have all the major events covered. We will also have
other things planned as well. So, there is more to come. That
means I'll get to email bomb the hell out of you all for the next
two months. hehe

Somtimes I miss my junky old CRX and wish that the B18b engine thats in my civic Si would be sitting in my CRX. It would be a hell of a lot faster car thats for sure. I CRX HF is so much lighter that a Civic SI. But than again my crx has no gauges, shift know,or bumpers, side skirts and side moldings. DAMN THEIVES!

(oh yeah and good job, your thread didn't get locked or deleted this time. Keep up the good work. )
