want to get a comptech icebox entire kit. i have a 96ek hatch with gsr engine and skunk2 intake manifold.

 

Get the one for the 99-00 Civic Si.

 

is the fitment issue like the aem cai, cause i ended up getting the type r cai and it fit just fine?

 

the guy at comptechusa.com said he's not 100 percent sure but he recommends that i use a 99-00si icebox with a type r intake kit. does this sound right

 

I suppose. I wold recomend the entire 99-00 Si kit. The B16A and ITR manifold place the throttle body in the same location. When I put the Skunk2 manifold on my 99 Si same location. So with your set-up in your 96 hatch being a 6th gen it shoudl line up perfectly. Now I know the front ends are diff on the 96-98 vs 99-00 but the actual motor placement and intake placement themselves are not. The 99-00 Si short ram and ice box assembly should bolt up no problem. I think the guy just told you that because you have an ITR style manifold.
