I assume to quiet it down a little if you want.

I guess the in line e-cut out is the new trend in japan.

I would rather have the cut out in line so you can run more of a strait thru muffler and be able to adjust it to your tastes

So far I only saw the adjustable on Fujitsubo website for WRX, and the Legalis R on ITR is very quiet that you shouldn't need any of those sound adjustable device to keep it quiet.

Do you have any sound clips?

How does this compare to the RM01A in power and sound?

Is the LEGALIS R a true 2.5" exhaust or is it the same diameter as the RM01A?

It is 60.5mm, same as RM-01A and over 90% of JDM ITR catback out in the market.

this is a good "street" exhaust, although the RM-01A is more performance oriented in being straight-through and isn't very loud over all.

Migs wants the total sleeper look and is getting a good deal on his.

An exhaust cut out back in the day where manual either a few bolts or a lever. The purpose was to bypass your exhaust system. Basically an exhaust dump (open header).

Now most are electric here are some.

http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm

Now some of the Japanese companies are putting them in line with the exhaust system so you can regulate the sound of the exhaust.
here is the Legalis

and check this site for the Apexi
http://www.takakaira.com/performance/main.html

I have the QT but would like to get the inline one for I can run a straight thru large pipe exhaust and still have it as quiet as I want.

Just by looking at the cutout. It looks as if it could hinder on performance when closed, correct?
