Default Exhaust

BEFORE ANYONE PANICS I USED THE SEARCH OPTION AND DID NOT FIND WHAT I NEEDED.

Already, having said that. Since I am planning on a 98-01 lude, I wanted to know what kind of exhaust I should get. I DO NOT want one that will sound very high pitched and super loud when I'm going 20 mph. I need something that gives it a humm..... Not to loud. Know what I mean? You see these civics all the time with exhaust so loud it sets off car alarms.... But all the sound is coming at while they're slowly taking off from a light, know what I mean? I want a rumbly exhaust that sounds nice, not loud, but nice....
So who has heard different type of exhaust on the ludes?

go with SMSP. Custom built. Quiet and deap from what I've heard. Cheaper than Mugen, and just as good if not better IMO.

*Mugen ******: let the flaming begin*

My Apex'i N1 is deap and "rumbly" but is kinda loud. its a good exhaust if u dont mind a little heat shield rattle in low rpms.

Thermal R&D. Best overall bang for your dollar spent and it will not rust-100%stainless (maybe not the flanges). Fit, finish and sound are absolutely first rate.

the JUN doens't sound bad, nor does the Roll Hard Performance... both are just the universal canisters though, not cat-backs

oh yeah since i am here: i love my evo, the sound is second to none. But if you had the money i would go with HyTech.

several people i've talked to disagree with the look of the RSR on preludes, but its up to you. I'm very pleased with the tanabe hyper medallion or racing medallion. If i had the $$$$$$$$ i'd opt for the mugen. All around great in my opinion.

that's about the only thing the N1 really does. They should name it the A'PEXi N1 Alarm Tripper or something

Okay I'll add my exhaust question here. I want to know what the most quiet exhaust out there is that will still offer good flow. I am not a fan of loud exhaust at all. I would love for my car to sound like a BMW Z1 Is there any decent exhaust systems for the ludes that could do this?

I learned that the hard way, thats for sure. Originally was running the N1 without a cat and no resonator. Sounded louder than any Harley Davidson I've ever come across. I put a Cat back on it and a resonator...it's deep, a bit raspy, but not too loud.

I'd probably go with Tanabe RM if you don't want too loud, but nice sound. I personally like my N1 now.

I used to have a greddy evo for my 5th gen lude and I liked the way it sounded. It had a nice deep sound to it. You couldn't really hear it too much at low rpms, but when you got on it and once vtec hit it roared. Then I got a mugen. This exhaust is so much quieter than the evo. It isn't as quiet as stock but it is close to it. If you got the cash I'd highly recommend the mugen exhaust.
