yes you can .. i have a v-afc right now and i was wondering the same thing.. and i am going to get the mugen ecu as well.. and i found that the v-afc will help with fine tuning i believe i'm no expert about it tho..
i kinda have the same question....i know every engine set up is different....so it will be different tunning for everyone....but here is the run down and what im wanting to do.......
2000 type R motor (all stock...with the exception of ARP rod and Head bolts)
AEM cold air
DC sports 4-2-1 header
Thermal Research catback
skunk two cam gears (stock setting)
B&M fuel pressure Regulater
a Mugen remap P28
VAFC
As everyone knows this computer map runs ALOT of fuel....and Yes I know the dyno is the best way to tune....and im going to do that, however.....is there anyone out there with at similar set up that could give out there VAFC settings to help the car run less "smoke" until my dyno day????????
sorry not trying to steal the thread.

the chipped ecu has a set program
so is actually doing a double command when you are adding a
piggyback system
I did that a while back and it was not performing like is supposed to
so I got rid of the chipped ecu
and kept the piggyback system in wich is tunnable
not like the chip that is already programmed no matter what
other mods are made....
