SCCA ITE... almost anything goes, so I wondered if anyone runs this class?

I might be persuaded to follow my friends into roadracing with my '92 Hatchback with a beefed up GSR powerplant and they found out I can run in ITE. In our Northeast region the class is available and there are a few competitors. Yes I will get my **** handed to me day after day but at least I'll be out there on track. They have all of the fun in ITA with their CRX's and another in SM with his newly built Miata, I wanna play too! I've done trackschools before and been autocrossing for 5 years now, and with their help and support I'd be glad to join the ranks of SCCA wheel2wheel racers.

Also my car is 90% ready for w2w tracktime... friends will help me by finishing my rollbar into a cage (or making a cage from scratch and selling the Autopower bolt in rollbar), adding the safety parts and gave me a shopping list for spares, tires, etc.

Any of you guys in here ever run your Hybrid in ITE or in roadracing other than Honda Challenge / EMRA / etc? Any info you have from experience would be greatly appreciated... thanks, Owen

 

Our rules here in the NW are a bit screwy.... I run what would be a SPU/ITE car in ITC for SoloI. The rules here are based on displacement then on prep, I am under 2.0l therefore ITC.

So I run a C5 equiped 92 Hatch against 'true' ITA/ITB/ITC cars. I am an overdog but it is still fun.

I know in the WDCR region you would have to run SPU.
