new EF owner 56K killer pics
Just wanted to intruduce myself. I just picked up this little EF for a daily driver. My normal daily driver was a 1997 Dodge Neon ACR. It was fairly quick, but I popped the motor. Getting it rebuilt now and needed something. This sedan fell in my lap for $400 because the guy said it needed to much to ever run again. New headgasket and assocaited parts and I had her on the road working on it part time after work for 3 days
His loss I guess.
So please forgive my newbie questions. I try to search ALOT. Almost to much. I know I will be lowering the car VERY soon. This was supposed to be a daily driver with no mods, but I can already see a manual tranny swap and at least a MPFI swap in this cars future. Being that Neons are so reliable stock, and I plan on mine runnings 12s all motor, I better make this car a fun daily driver

I thought neons had a lot of problems, especially in the transmission department and were always leaking **** out of the engine? well from what ive seen...

I would sell the Neon and fix this thing up, but Im already pretty deep in parts for the Neon. This is going to be my RELIABLE daily driver.Trannies on the Neon are OK. Mine has 114K miles and has seen a few hundred passes at the strip. Still on stock clutch and axles. No idea how it has survived those 6K RPM clutch drops. We'll see how it holds up after I put the 2.4 in it. Should be around 200 WHP and 165lbs with it. Although a b16 in this civic sounds like it would be fun

Yeah me neither. 6K rpm clutch drops are the norm in a honda though.... Bullet proof baby.
