greddy sp troubles.........
yeah, you know how it goes. 4 years down, resonator rattling and bothering me fairly bad. Question: Has anyone simply removed the resonator and had a section of 2.5 welded in its place?? If so is the sound unbearable? Dont have the cashflow right now to replace it so its either this or just go back to stock....which at this point i have no problem doing.
Anyones thoughts.......
TIA guys

You could just remove the resonator like you mentioned, but my guess is that you wouldn't be too pleased with the sound afterwards. Have you thought about removing the resonator and welding in a new one? Maybe a Magnaflow or something? Should keep the costs to a minimum while keeping your ears happy.

LOL, i've already been through a Trust SP, and a Greddy SP..both the same exact thing....basically, after time, tne insides of the muffler start coming apart..thus, rattling, spitting fiberglass out, etc....at first, i thougt the problem was the resognator....i had a muffler shop remove the whole section of the resignator, and put in a straight pipe......flowed a whole lot better after that, and it did get a bit louder. Have some one rev your car and see if the rattling noise is coming from under the car, or from the rear section of the car
yes sir I had the power extreme on my car resonator separated completely pissed me the hell off especially after all the money but I just took it to a muffler shop and matched up a after market resonator and had it replaced for like 30 bucks never had a problem after that.
