new springs
Right now I have no clue what type of springs I have. My car rides really well but doesn't handle well. This is okay but I noticed that the right rear side is alot lower then the left and now that I put subs in the trunk that the back is lower then the front. Also I came to a tire shop to get a flat fix and noticed that the inside of my front is is horribly worn. Well to get to the point I was thinking about getting H&R sport springs how much do they lower a 1991 accord and where to get them I have seen ebay and opauto for $150. Does anyone have any Other suggestions for springs. And lastly how much should it cost to have installed?
get some eibach prokits (1.25-1.50 drop, depending on struts), eibach also makes sportlines, which are a 2'' drop, which are terrible on normal roads...get the prokit, and some tokiko gas shocks/struts, or some kyb ajustables
The major players in the spring business seem to be Eibach and H&R. I've had both and actually preffer the H&Rs, but everyone seems to say Eibach is the way to go. I've got the H&R Sports right now, about a 2" drop, but it's too low. At the auto-x my outside front tire (stock-sized no less) rub at the top of the wheel well. I'm getting taller springs and a height adjustment kit like Ground Control or something. Might even get coil-overs.
depends on what you want to do with the car.... i am getting custom coil overs with 400 front and 450 rear, of course I am taking my car out on the track. I wouldn't go lower than 300 in the front and 350 in the rear.
when you say 2" drop, do you mean 2 inches from the ground or 2 inches from where the car is now? And i have a speed bumb at my school that i have to go over everymorning so i have to think about that too.

THis may be a really dumb question but I'll ask anyhow.. When you drop a car does it have any adverse affect on the CV joints? I.E. are they designed to be opearting at "stock height" and when a car is dropped are they constantlly in an extended state or does it make no difference? Just curious.
Thanks!
Thanks!
2" drop = the car sits 2" lower than the stock ride height.
Shouldn't be any adverse effects on CV joints, but we who lower cars tend to drive the hell out of them so stuff wears out faster anyways. You should still get well over 100,000 miles out of your axels.
The suspension is designed so that the distance from tranny to wheel hub remains consistant throughout the suspension's travel, otherwise we'd all be poping CVs or binding on corners.
