Was thinking of getting one for my R but it seems that they are unreliable and the resonator f$%ks up after a while. I have the spoon n1 muffler and currently running stock ITR b pipe. I wonder if spoon has rectified this problem yet? Any comments please. Cheers

I've never heard anyone with one having a problem.

 

Never heard of this either. The only "problem" I have ever heard of are the bottle necks in the pipe but that is not a Malfunction or a defect.

 

The only "problem" with the Spoon B-Pipe is the price

 

Yes indeed the resonator for the Spoon b-pipe are occuring some problems. The resonator got busted very easily then it will make some rattling or annoying sound after short period of time. I will not suggest ppl to get it.

If you want B-pipe I will suggest T1R TypeOne.

 

Any other suggestions aside from the type one b pipes? I was thinking of a custom 2.5 inch pipe instead. In australia so type one b pipes are not feasible (shipping is gonna kill me).

 

Custom is always a godo choice.

 

I am sure you can find some mandrel bent piping in Australia to make you a custom 2.5 inch exhaust.

I have heard of some developing a noise, but this doesn't hinder performance in the least.
Custome B pipe is a good deal

 

No way i am paying no small sum of $$$ for something that develops problems. Might just go with the custom pipe or if the price is rite.. type one b pipe from aj.

215 for the Stainless? Sounds pretty good. Wonder how much a resonator would be.

 

i just installed the full spoon exhaust a few weeks ago. the cat is from a jdm oem itr. during normal city driving, the system is nice and quiet, well except for the n1. but when driving fast during long periods of time, there is a rattling noise. i'm still have jack it up and check it out since having installed everything.

there is a rattle when - it seems - the exhaust system is hot. otherwise, during normal driving, it's silent.

i'm thinking maybe the cat or a heatshield comes loose at high temps.

 

I've talked to the guys at Type One and they said it's inside the Resonator. They said it doesn't hurt anything or decrease from performance.
They Said "Shoganai" Basically there is nothing to do about it so son't worry

But that deal on the Custom Pipe is Pretty Nice

 

i guess in a way, the b-pipe is telling ya you've been driving hard.

[EDIT: the rattling occurs only during off-throttle times. when on throttle, nice. when @ idle or @ partial throttle, an occasional rattle. ]

 

The rattle probably happens when it's hot due to metal expanding. Definately check it out as rattles can be quite annoying
